2417, MATH 2333 and STAT 1342.  Main Topics include equations and inequalities, introduction to functions, equations of a line and linear systems, polynomial functions, rational expressions and functions, exponents and radicals, quadratic functions, operations on functions, and exponential and logarithmic functions.

Grading Policy: The course grade will be determined as follows:

Eight best out of ten quizzes - 10% (Given on Wednesdays except when tests are given.)
Two best of three tests - 60%
Comprehensive Final Exam - 30%

Grades will be calculated based on the following scale: 97-100 A+, 93-96.9 A, 90-92.9, A-, 87-89.9, B+, 83-86.9 B, 80-82.9 B-, 77-79.9 C+, 73-76.9 C, 70-72.9 C-, 67-69.9 D+, 63-86.9 D, 60-62.9 D-, 0-59.9 F.

Sage advice:

If you want to do well in the course: 1) Do all the homework assigned.  2) Do many additional problems and examples from the book since this will prepare you better for the exams. 2) Ask questions and parcipate in class. 3) If you are having difficulty doing the homework see the instructor, go the the math lab, or see the TA for additional help.

Here is the list of selected odd-numbered exercises which everyone is
expected to do.  Many students might find it necessary to have more
practice; they should choose similar problems from each section, review
exercises or practice tests.
